Layla Ocean Rush

I put this on last night because it was supposed to be sunny today, but it’s really cloudy out. Even still, the holo on this is very strong and gorgeous! I used the Nfu Oh Aqua Base as a base coat, and no top coat.

I almost didn’t buy Ocean Rush because I thought it might be too close to Hits Apolo, but as you can see in the bottom picture, it’s not. The polishes pictured from left to right are Layla Mermaid Spell, Layla Ocean Rush and Hits Apolo. Apolo is much darker and the holo on Apolo is more visible in person but still not as strong as the Laylas. I haven’t bought Layla Flash Black because I thought it might be too close to Zeus, but now I definitely want it.

Hufflepolish Treat Yo Self

A little preview! Unfortunately it won’t be up on the Etsy store for a couple weeks, since May is going to be too busy for me to keep up with the shop. But I’m extremely excited about this one. It took me a while to find the right purple glitters, and I’m glad I waited until it was just right because this is exactly how I hoped it would look. Treat Yo Self is inspired by Donna Meagle from Parks and Recreation, a wonderful character who needs to be given more screen time.

China Glaze Make Some Noise

Sorry for the tip wear! I’ve had this on for a few days but only got around to taking pictures this morning. It’s not quite as red as it looks in my pictures, it’s a bit more coral and very bright without being neon or loud.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid Dreams

I love this color so much! Sorry for the icky office lighting, again. This color is gorgeous though. I didn’t realize it from the pictures I’ve seen, but it actually is quite duochrome, and goes from seafoam green to a very pretty blue color at an angle. I was reluctant to buy it because I hate paying Deborah Lippmann prices, but I’m glad I did.

Rainbow Honey Hanami

This polish is so lovely! It’s a beautiful mix of pink and white glitters. It’s really densely packed glitter too, this is 1 coat of Hanami over 2 coats of Zoya Rory. I think you could wear it on it’s own and reach opacity in 2-3 coats. I think it would also be gorgeous layered over just about any color. I have a few Rainbow Honey polishes now and I’m really impressed with all of them. They’re definitely one of my favorite Etsy nail polish shops.

Zoya Rory

This color is really pretty, but I’m not sure it’s “me”. I just don’t wear much pink. I think it’s going to be the perfect base for the glitter I’m going to share with you tomorrow, which I’m very excited about!

Sorry for the lack of updates! I loved Mask-a-Rade so much I kept it on almost the whole week.

This is Cult Nails Scandalous. It’s a nice melon colored jelly. I’m wearing two coats, but I like sheer polishes. If you don’t, you might want to go with three coats. I’m really glad I bought this! I preordered the Divas and Drama collection, mostly because I wanted Seduction. I’m surprised by how much I like this color though! This is what I expected Butter London Trout Pout to look like. And based on pictures, is similar to RBL Starfish Patrick, which I’ve wanted but been unable to find.

The first two pictures look much more yellow toned than Scandalous looks in person. The fingertip picture is the most color accurate.

Picture Polish Mask-a-Rade over Illamasqua Scorn

Sorry for the terrible cell phone picture today! I’m working an earlier shift every other week until the fall, which means I don’t have time to take pictures at home during the short period of time when I have decent natural lighting. I’ll try to at least use my real camera most of the time from now on though. Unfortunately, my pictures don’t do this polish justice, at all. It is multiple colors of multichrome glitters, so the colors change drastically with every angle. It’s really beautiful!

Models Own Indian Ocean over Julep Jessica

ugh LOVE this polish so much! I read that it’s extremely sheer, even at 4 coats, so I layered it. This is 2 coats of Indian Ocean over 1 coat of Jessica.

You can create a very similar look if you have Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat. Sally was selling it around the holidays. It’s sheer but has the same purple/pink to pale gold color shifting pigments as Indian Ocean. If you layer it over a light blue, it’s pretty similar. (the glitter one on the right is OPI Pirouette My Whistle, I just wanted to see how it looked).

Julep Jessica

I love this one! Not only is it a gorgeous pale blue, it’s also only 1 coat! It went on very smoothly with great coverage and no streakyness. I received Jessica as part of the Julep April It Girl box, along with Niecy and Penelope, but I think Jessica will definitely be my favorite of the three.

Sally Hansen - Hidden Treasure (2012 non-flakie version)

Meh… I like this one a lot better in the bottle. In the bottle it’s a pale lilac with some duochrome. On me, it looks white with a greenish shimmer. The frosty white is a bit dated looking.
